France Congrès et Evénements counts the quality and social responsibility of member organisations as one of its top priorities.
The aim is to encourage as many member conference centres as possible to sign up formally to quality and sustainable development processes, through a combination of collective awareness raising and individual technical support for each facility taking part.
After providing technical support to some of its members on the Quality and Sustainable Development Charter and on ISO14001 certification in recent years, the FCE is now focusing its attention on ISO 20121 (Sustainable Events), with the gradual rollout of an award scheme recognising the sustainable commitments made by our member destinations. An initial group of nine destinations* has committed to this approach.
At the same time, given the importance of the issues at stake, France Congrès et Evénements is breaking new ground with the development of its collaborative Innov & Tech initiative, by introducing the Perfect Meeting© approach (applicable to events) and opening it up to event organisers already committed to sustainable development, and those keen to make faster progress in terms of best practices.
This commitment took concrete shape in Deauville in September 2019, with the first Innov & Tech Forum – Imagining and creating the future of destinations and events, at the close of which the Fédération Française du Sport d’Entreprise (FFSE), the Association du Congrès des Notaires de France (ACNF) and the Association Française des Vétérinaires pour Animaux de Compagnie (AFVAC) all signed up to the “Perfect Meeting” approach.
The aim of the approach is twofold: to identify trends of potential interest and useful practices that can serve as inspiration, and to organise dialogue within the network on themes ranging from the highly specific to the more broadly based, with input from external contributors.
A purpose-built resource site with member-only access has been set up, containing carefully selected and regularly updated content.
